Crushing and Screening Ltd of Thirsk, North Yorkshire, recently won an order from Tarmac’s Marfield Quarry at Masham to replace their existing 6mtr x 2.1mtr double deck washing screen with one of Crushing and Screening’s equivalent screens.
The order included the removal of the existing screen from its support structure some 12 mtrs from ground level, dismantling the feed conveyor, drive unit and walkway, in order to allow the old screen to be removed, the new screen to be installed.
Used in the operation was a 100t crane to safely install the new screen weighing in excess of 10t. The removal and installation was completed on time, to minimise the down time incurred, to the satisfaction of the Tarmac Management.
