Crushing and Screening Ltd designed, manufactured and delivered a 5 metre centre’s inclined screw conveyor to handle waste material at the recently opened waste incinerator plant in North Yorkshire. Again this shows the wide range Crushing and Screening has to design and manufacture many different applications of materials handling equipment.
We are delighted to have supplied this bespoke equipment to a leading major UK company, Amey, commented Neil Ashton MD of Crushing and Screening and confirms our progress in the materials handling field.
Amey is working in partnership with North Yorkshire County Council and City of York Council to design, build and operate a state-of-the-art facility to treat ‘black sack’ waste from households across the county.
Construction started on the new facility in January 2015, it will be fully operational in early 2018.
Allerton Waste Recovery Park will reduce the amount of waste going to landfill in North Yorkshire by at least 90% and increase recycling in the county. It will:
- Firstly sort the ‘black bag’ waste using mechanical treatment technology to extract and recyclable items.
- Process around 40,000 tonnes of food and organic waste each year to generate renewable energy.
- Use the remaining non-recyclable waste to generate enough energy to power 40,000 homes.
